Prof. Dr. Miroslav D. Dramićanin is a Full Professor of Applied Physics at the Faculty of Physics, University of Belgrade, and a Research Professor at the Vinča Institute of Nuclear Sciences. He heads the accredited Center of Excellence for Photoconversion (CONVERSE).
His research spans materials science, spectroscopy, luminescence and biophysics, with a sustained focus on luminescent materials and nanomaterials for remote temperature sensing. His group develops new phosphors, measurement methods and data-analysis strategies for applications ranging from harsh environments and optoelectronics to microelectronics and biomedicine.
He earned BSc, MSc and PhD degrees at the University of Belgrade. Since joining the Vinča Institute in 1995, he has combined scientific research with academic teaching, laboratory and infrastructure leadership, international project coordination and doctoral supervision.

Research contribution
Prof. Dramićanin’s work addresses both sides of the field: the chemistry and physics of thermally responsive emitters, and the methods used to turn spectra into traceable temperature estimates. His group has advanced rare-earth and transition-metal phosphors, near-infrared Mn5+ thermometry, high-resolution thermal imaging and data-driven spectral analysis.
